Beaucerons have a somewhat intimidating appearance and make excellent guard dogs. Beaucerons do okay with children if they are around them from the time they are puppies, but should be supervised with small kids. Beaucerons can be intensely trained for obedience. Beaucerons are very territorial and should be socialized with any other household animals from an early age. Beauceron dogs need a job to do, daily walking, and exercise off of a leash.
